Change. It happens to all of us. Every living thing is constantly in an ever fluctuating state of growing or dying. Once a flower stops growing, it starts its descent into wilting. Once a person stops choosing to change for the better, we start to stagnate and little by little our dreams start to die, our hope starts to fade, and the light of our future becomes cloaked in darkness. Change also comes with different faces. If we seek it and choose it willingly, we attain the benefits of strengthened character, seeing new opportunities and avoiding unnecessary pain. But if we avoid change until it chases after us, our world can close in around us, forcing us to bend to the circumstances around us with no say in our future. So choose change. Value the potential of growth that lies within you, and pour into yourself and your gifts. Prune the parts of your life that have long been dead and no longer bring life. Put your focus on things that will grow the world around you. And when you fail, or when the cracks of your past mistakes or trauma start to show, don’t fear falling apart. Instead, let those cracks be seen in a world where the pursuit of perfection is so prevalent. Allow the vulnerabilities of your experiences to help you extend love and grace to others around you who wish to grow, and in time watch as what was once brokenness, becomes life and inspiration for those who come behind you.
